By using Banyan (banyan.family), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Banyan Does
Banyan is a collaborative family tree app. You can create family trees, add members, map relationships, and share with relatives via invite links.
Your Account
- You're responsible for your account and the information you add.
- Don't impersonate others or claim profiles that aren't yours.
- Don't use the app for harassment or to share private information without consent.
Content You Add
- You retain ownership of the content you add (names, photos, notes).
- By adding content, you grant Banyan permission to store and display it to other tree members.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to share.
Tree Roles
- Elders manage the tree — they can add/remove members, approve edits, and manage roles.
- Family members can add new members and edit their own profiles.
- Viewers can see the tree but cannot modify it.
No Warranty
Banyan is provided "as is" without warranties. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee uptime or data preservation. Back up anything important.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms.
